COVID19 Relief – Distribution of Dry Rations to Daily Wage Earners from various parts of Sri Lanka through Colombo Ramakrishna Mission

Due to the rapid spread of Coronavirus in Sri Lanka during this third wave, many areas are under lockdown for more than two weeks and it is further extended in some areas. This created a great need to ensure the food security of families living on daily earnings. There are many families of low socio economic level which are severely impacted and are expecting dry ration assistance from government, NGOs, charities and individual well-wishers.Engineers Charity Fund recently funded a sum of $21000 (LKR 31.7 Million) to Ramakrishna Mission to deliver emergency relief measures (Dry Rations – Rs.2000 per pack) to the affected families of low socio economic level in the following areas through their Welfare Centres/ Well Wishers etc. Description Donation (AU$) Donation (LKR) Upcountry $3500 LKR 527,750 Vavuniya $3500 LKR 527,750 Kilinochchi $3500 LKR 527,750 Jaffna $3500 LKR 527,750 Mullaitivu $3500 LKR 527,750 Mannar $3500 LKR 527,750 Total $21000 LKR 31,665,000 Ramakrishna Mission is progressing well with the distribution of emergency relief measures at various locations. Assistance to people impacted by COVID 19 in Batticaloa

“Engineers Charity Fund” recently donated a sum of $4000 in total towards providing dry rations to people who have lost livelihoods due to COVID shutdowns as well as support the patients admitted to Batticaloa Hospital. The projects were undertaken by LIFT NGO and Batticaloa Civil SocietyEmergency relief measures (dry rations) to the affected families at Batticaloa – LIFT NGO - $2000Support to the COVID19 patients admitted at Batticaloa Hospital – Batticaloa Civil Society - $2000Total amount - $4000Due to the rapid spread of Coronavirus in Sri Lanka during this third wave, many areas are under lockdown for more than two weeks and it is further extended in some areas. Donation of Dry food to vulnerable families from Jaffna and Kilinochchi Districts (COVID19 Assistance)

Tamil Engineers Foundation recently donated $3000.00 (Rs 361,500.00) to “Shanthiham” (association for health & counselling) of Jaffna to provide dry foods to the Vulnerable Families in Jaffna and Kilinochchi Districts. About 265 families from Jaffna District and 100 families from Kilinochchi District i.e. 365 families in total have benefited by this donation. The district secretariat has assisted “Shanthiham” in selecting the suitable beneficiaries and arranging the distribution events with the selected beneficiaries from the respective locations.Read more...

Porathivupattu, Vellavely Division in Batticaloa District. TEF recently donated $1700 (Rs. 205, 000) to supply dry rations to people in need through the Divisional Secretariat.
